Richard Amato
Commander 2022-2024 - Air Force

Cdr Amato joined Post 4380 as a Life Member in 2001.  He joined the Air Force several months after high school graduation and was sent to Defense Language Institute East Coast after Basic Training at Lackland AFB.  After almost a year of intense Korean language trianing, he attended his follow-uo cryptologic training at Goodfellow AFB in San Angelo, TX, then came survival school a tour at Osan AB South Korea, back to Andrews AFB for German school then to West Berlin. Sent back to Goodfellow as an instructor, he made his way to Athens Greece for the next three years airborne on the Rivet Joint platform in the east Mediterranean Sea. One final tour at NSA in the DC area before his honorable discharge.
Amato moved to North Texas in 1979 and started an electromedical equipment business for the next 30 years. He has been married to Nancy for over 40 years and has a 100% disabled Army veteran son in Wisconsin and an autistic grandson. He understands the necessity for our veterans and their families to get the care they need due to toxins and chemicals encountered in our military lives.
Cdr Amato spent a couple of months as Adjutant in 2017, Sr. Vice Commander for two years then assumed Command of Post 4380 in 2022.
