Art became a VFW Life Member in the Casey Joyce All-America Post 4380 Plano TX in 2016 and was voted in as Jr. Vice Commander 2016 through 2017.  He served as Sr. Vice Commander 2018 through 2019.  In 2022 Art again is serving as Jr. Vice Commander to re-connect with old & non-participating members as well as growing our post with new members.

Art enlisted and served in the US Air Force 1964-68.  He was a jet engine mechanic stationed at Tinker AFB working on C141s, stationed at Mactan AFB in the Philippines working on C130s, C133s and B52s and stationed as a Crew Chief at Takhli AFB in Thailand working on F105s.  Art was honorably discharged in 1968 with the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and National Defense Service Medal.   Art is one of the movers and shakers of the Post, pushing us toward All-American and All-State!
 
In civilian life, Art spent 50 years in the telecom industry and retired in 2019.  Art is married to Janet Marie Gionta for over 54 years with 3 children and 4 grandchildren.
